==Second Life Time==
Second Life Time (SLT), which is the same everywhere in the world, is shown in the right-hand part of the [[Menu Bar]] that runs across the top of the [[User Interface]].

SLT is set to be Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) or Pacific Standard Time (PST), depending on daylight savings. This is because the main offices of Linden Lab are located in San Francisco.

==Second Life Day==
The Second Life Day has three hours of daytime and one hour of night. Thus in a real-world 24-hour day, there are six Second Life days.

The day is divided into four periods, each of which provides a different lighting for the [[World]], as follows:
*Sunrise
*Midday
*Sunset
*Midnight

Note however that the [[Environmental Settings]] entry in the [[World Menu]] allows you to change the period of the day according to your own choice.
