==Second Life Time==
Second Life Time (SLT) is shown in the right-hand part of the Menu Bar]]. It is set to the time in the Pacific Time Zone, because the main offices of Linden Lab are located in San Francisco.

==Second Life Day==
The Second Life Day has three hours of daytime and one hour of night. Thus in a real-world 24-hour day, there are six Second Life days.

The day is divided into four periods, each of which provides a different Lighting]] for the World]], as follows:
*Sunrise
*Midday
*Sunset
*Midnight

Note however that the Environment Settings]] entry in the World Menu]] allows you to change the period of the day according to your own choice.
