In the context of [[Second Life]], the term World can signify either:
*The simulated three-dimensional space in general, which is occupied by all Avatar]]s and objects
*The actual existing collection of Sim]]s making up the Second Life Grid]]

==The World as Virtual Space and Time==
As the simulated three-dimensional space in general, the World is what one sees in the central part of the [[User Interface]]. This simulated reality has its own space, its own Physics]] and its own time, known as Second Life Time]] or SLT. When one's avatar is present in this virtual world, one is said to be Inworld]].

The World Menu]] is one of the Drop-Down Menu]]s in the Menu Bar]]. (See Image:World Menu.JPG]])

==The World as Grid==
As the collection of actual existing Sim]]s, the Second Life World is called the Grid]]. This is the world that shows in the World Map]].
